August 29, 1775
THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, August 29, 1775 Pg. 2 has a brief item noting: "...that several of the Provincials had deserted to General Gage, that many others had retired to their families & that a flux had attacked their camp which carried off numbers."

Most of page 5 is taken up with: "A Copy of General Bugoyne's Answer to General Lee, dated July 8, 1775..." which concerns a meeting between the two (see for portions).  Another page has a letter from Norfolk, & includes: "...the report of a great desertion in the Provincial forces is confirmed by some resolutions at the Provincial Congress held at Watertown..." and which cites a newspaper ad noting: "...Volunteers, from the time of their enlistment, to enter into immediate pay...they are likewise to be provided with a suit of regimental clothes, a firelock, ammunition, accountrements & every other article necessary for the equipment of American soldiers." with a bit more (see).
