* General George Washington in fear
* American army in revolt ?
Pg. 2 has an item which notes: "There are reports in town which are generally believed at Lloyds, that General Clinton is coming from New York & that Lord Cornwallis is to succeed him in the command." Page 3 has: "...we have a confirmation of the success of Arnold in Virgina..." and a bit further on: "...the whole American army is in a state of mutiny and revolt; that Washington, apprehensive of personal injury, never moves without a strong body guard; and that Congress remaining under similar fears, have demanded a detachment from the main body, which have been refused them..." and further on: "...A staff is expected to be established in South Carolina when Lord Cornwallis is to be made Commander in Chief in that Province."
Four pages, damp staining at the bottom, a few tape mends inside, full red tax stamp on pg. 3, minor loss to a bottom corner affects nothing.
