THE POST BOY, London, April 14, 1709

* Newly published book : Jewish Doctors, Jewish Customs
* Early Judaica item

The entire back page of this very early, single sheet newspaper is filled with advertisements. Among the ads is concerning a recently published book: "Of The Term of Life, viz. Whether it is Fix'd or Alterable; with the Sense of the Jewish Doctors, both Antient and Modern, touching Predestination and Free-will. Also an Explication of several obscure Passages and Prophecies in the Old Testament; together with some remarkable Customs observed by the Jews. Written in Latin by the famous Menaish Ben Israel, the Jew, and now translated into English by Tho. Pocock..." with just a bit more (see).
Uncommon to find such an early newspaper report concerning a book about Jewish doctors and Jewish customs.
This is the complete, genuine newspaper, measuring 8 1/4 by 14 inches, printed on very high quality paper as was typical of the period, and in excellent condition.  The masthead features two nice & decorative engravings (see).
