THE PENNSYLVANIA EVENING POST, Philadelphia, June 7, 1777  All of pages 1 and 2 are taken up with reports from the Pennsylvania Assembly with a few bits regarding the Revolutionary War, one item reading: "...and praying them to provide effectual means for the encouragement of those who are for supporting the independence of the United States and for the suppression of those who are not...".
Page 3 news from "Philadelphia" includes word that: "The Supreme Executive Council of this State have appointed Brigadier-General John Armstrong, Esq; to be Major-General."
A resolve passed by the Congress mentions a complaint about the absence of the Regimental Paymasters of the Army, and therefore directs "...the Commander in Chief, and the Commander in each separate department, be directed to take the most effectual means for compelling all Regimental Paymasters to attend punctually to the duties of their office...", signed in type: Charles Thomson. There is also a letter which makes reference to a piece signed by "Common Sense".
Page 3 also has an ad for a book or pamphlet on the attack of Fort Sullivan, Charleston, South Carolina.
Four pages, measures about 8 by 10 inches, nice condition.
