THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, April 16, 1778  Page 2 has an item noting: "The spirit of party seems entirely to have subsided here; the Americans & Anti-Americans, the minority & majority are now form but one party & their views only the good & safety of this kingdom...".
An inside pg. is mostly taken up with "Proceedings in the House of Commons" with most of the discussion concerning America and the repeal of the Quebec Act. Bits include: "...The Americans would be instantly satisfied that the injurious measure would be done away as soon as possible & before the act should take place..." and "The Americans...were alarmed at the first passing of the bill. They looked on it as a sample of that despotic mode in which they should be hereafter governed themselves..." with much more.
Most of another page is taken up with: "Speech...on the American Contest" (see for portions).  Another page notes: "...Orders are come over for cloathing for the...regiments to be sent to Philadelphia with all speed, as that which was shipped for them last Christmas was taken by the Provincials & the soldiers are in want of cloaths." Mention of a naval battle as well. A few other minor tidbits relating to the war.
Complete in 8 pages, 8 1/2 by 11 inches, great condition.
