THE MONTHLY REVIEW, London, January, 1755 This issue still has the blue/green outer wrappers which are rarely found with magazines of the day, as typically most issues were bound into annual volumes and the wrappers removed & destroyed in the process. But what's curious is that these wrappers do not belong to this issue but must have been with it for some time, as a period 18th century notation at the top has "March, 1758" crossed out and "Jany. - 55" written above it. And the inside of the back wrapper is for a rare title: "The Grand Magazine" from March, 1758.
Nonetheless both front & back wrappers are present, and this issue has the original sewn spine with the margins quite wide & untrimmed (preferred).
The wrapper shows edge wear, more so at the spine with most of the spine gone. The interior pages are generally very nice.
Measures about 6 by 9 inches, some wear at the edges, complete in 80 pages. No plates are called for.
