December 25, 1822
COLUMBIAN CENTINEL, Boston, Massachusetts, December 25, 1822
* Early 19th century Christmas Day
On page 2 under "Christmas" is a message from the editors of this newspaper that says: "This day is observed as a festival and high holy day throughout the Christian world. Public business is generally suspended and the churches are opened for divine worship. It is also the season of Good Wishes--the best of which are presented to our readers"
Nice to have in an issue dated December 25. A second item has details about churches conducting religious services.
News of the day with many ads. Archival mends to few fold tears, some lite foxing, otherwise good. Untrimmed.
