THE GENTLEMAN'S MAGAZINE, London, England, January, 1807

*From history to the movie "Amazing Grace"
* William Wilberforce & his efforts to abolish the slave trade

Within this 90+ page issue is a report headed: "Proceedings In the First Session of the Third Parliament of the United Kingdom of Great Britain & Ireland, 1806", which begins: "Lord Grenville brought in a Bill for abolishing the Slave Trade, which was read the first time." This brief report was the initiation of the discussion which would lead to a passing of the bill on March 25 for abolishing the slave trade in England. This effort was recently the focus of a popular movie "Amazing Grace". Great to have this report in a British periodical.
The issue also contains a brief announcement re: the capture of Buenos Ayres (pg 79). You get the complete 90+ page issue, measures about 5 by 8 inches, full title/index page, some scattered foxing & light soiling but generally in very nice condition.
