THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, June 25, 1774
* Rare Paul Revere reporting
* Pre revolutionary war tensions
The back page has a lengthy "Extract of a Letter from Boston, New England" which mentions near the beginning:
* Last evening the Committee of Correspondence received an answer to their express to Hartford by Mr. Revere, couched in the most friendly & sympathetic terms...to stand by their brethren in Boston, whom they consider as suffering in the common cause of America...Mr. Revere writes that so high is the spirit of justice & patriotism in that colony that one gentleman...would send a sloop load of wheat for the relief of the poor in Boston at his own expense...
plus much more.
Such mentions of Paul Revere outside of his engraving or bell foundry businesses are quite rare, particularly in reference to his post riding duties and from less than a year before his famous ride of April 18, 1775.
Complete in 8 pages, 8 1/2 by 11 1/4 in., very nice condition.
