CHARLESTON DAILY COURIER, South Carolina, March 7, 1864 Printed in the dateline is something rarely found in Confederate newspapers: "Confederate States Of America". Much of the ftpg. is taken up with reports from the Civil War, with heads including: "From Richmond--Later Northern News" "All Quiet in Front--From Orange. C.H." "Siege of Charleston--242nd Day" "Another Yankee Raid in Georgia and North Carolina" "Further From Florida" and more. The bkpg. is entirely taken up with advertisements, many of which are illustrated. Complete as a singlesheet issue, typical of Confederate newspapers from late in the war as most paper mills were located in the North. Some minor edge tears & chipping not affecting any text, and a few small archival mends to the bkpg. almost unnoticeable. Generally nice condition.
