THE BOSTON EVENING POST, March 27, 1775.
* Getting ready for the Revolutionary War
* Benjamin Franklin
* John Hancock
The front page report from the General Assembly of New York lists several grievances with recent Acts of Parliament, including: "...an Act for better securing the dependency of his Majesty's dominions in America upon the Crown & Parliament...declaring the right of Parliament to bind the colonies in all cases...", plus an Act to: "...impose duties for the purpose of raising a Revenue in America..." and more (see).
Page 2 letter to Ben Franklin and other agents in England regarding concern for how England will act towards America, with a response signed in type by: B. Franklin, and two others (see).
A page 2 notice regarding the need to be in a: "...State of actual defense against every invasion or depredation...threatened by a powerful Army posted in its Capital..." is signed in type by: John Hancock.
Also, much more on the tensions between England and America which cannot be mentioned here but which can be seen in the photos.
A full size issue of four pages with a nice engraving in the masthead, some rubbing at folds and a small piece from a blank margin not touching any text. Untrimmed, generally nice.
