An inside page has an: "Extract of a Letter from New York" with some items relating to the Revolutionary War, including:
* The state of the Colonies is much the same as when I left you last...Provisions are amazingly scarce throughout the colonies; they cannot for their money procure rations for their small remains of an army. Deserters daily come in...They cannot raise recruits...
and the news carries over to the back page as well with:
* ...Washington is still in the neighbourhood of Morris Town; he has with him between 3 and 4000 men...The Indians have struck great terror into the inhabitants on the frontiers of Pennsylvania..." with more (see photos). A bkpg. ad from the General Post Office begins: "Charles Town [Charleston] in South Carolina being restored to the King's possession, the direct intercourse between Great Britain & the Southern Provinces of North America through that town will be renewed...
with a bit more (see).
