THE CONNECTICUT COURANT, Hartford CT, July 16, 1787.

* John Hancock
* Shays' Rebelllion
* Samual Adams

Page 2 has a rather lengthy document concerning Massachusetts requesting permission to send its troops into other states to seek "...all & every of the rebels..." involved in the Shays' Rebellion, signed in type: Samuel Adams, James Warren, and John Hancock.

Page 3 has bits about the Confederation Congress & the Constitutional Convention (see photos), the latter reference being some interesting commentary (see).

Page 3 features a great letter to Governor John Hancock, signed by Henry Gale. Henry Gale fought in Shays’ Rebellion and was sentenced to death for his actions, which included recruiting Daniel Shays as a leader and attacking the armory in Springfield.

He was later pardoned.

Four pages, never trimmed, wide margins, one crease thru the middle, very nice condition.
