DAILY EVENING TRANSCRIPT, from Boston, Massachusetts, dated June 2, 1848. A report on page 2 of this issue states that during an anti-slavery meeting feminist and abolitionist Abby Folsom:
* Torn Dress. We hear Mistress Abby Folsom made herself very conspicuous at the Anti Slavery meeting on Wednesday. Her dress was torn in the efforts to control her, and she appealed to the sympathies of the audience against their rudeness, exhibiting the mutilated dress in confirmation of her remarks
Other news of the day includes: "The Massacre In Oregon" "The British Steamship Niagara" "Presidential" and more with several ads.
This is a complete issue in 4 pages which does have some very lite foxing. This also does contain a library stamp in the masthead area and date stamp and writing in the upper margin. Please see photos for details.
