January 18, 1792
CONCORD HERALD, New Hampshire, Jan. 18, 1792  Certainly one of the less common American newspapers from the 18th century, and featuring two engravings in the masthead, one being an early version of the U.S. coat-of-arms (see photos). Pg. 2 includes a report from Augusta, Georgia, headed: "Creek Indians" which takes almost a full column, and is followed by a report headed: "Western Territory, Pittsburg" which has a nice report beginning: "The army of the United States having advanced about 99 miles from fort Washington..." with much more on their affairs with the Indians (see for portions). Pg. 3 includes a letter dated Dec. 23, 1791 signed in type by the President: G. Washington concerning events near Pittsburgh (see). Four pgs., bit of very light rubbing, very nice condition.
