AMERICAN RAILROAD JOURNAL, New York, May 31, 1834.
* Rare Railroad Title
* Rare Railroad Title
* Nice Illustrated Masthead
This is a very early issue of the very first American periodical on railroading. The best feature of this newspaper is the great and very early engraving of a railroad train in the masthead, showing an engine with three cars. Note the crudeness of the train, but keep in mind this is from the very beginning years of the railroad industry. Much railroad-related text throughout this 16 page issue with articles headed: "Railroad Map" "Boston And Providence Railroad" & the like, but there is other content as well including farming, etc. A rare title from the 3rd year of its existence.
