McClellan" "The Confederates Abandon their Trains & Artillery" "The Recent Battle" "The Rebel Army in Virginia" "Terrible Loss of The Enemy" "Prominent Officers Killed". The bkpg. has lengthy text headed: "The Rebel Army Cleared Out of Maryland" "Their Losses of Prisoners, Ammunition, etc." "The Pursuit In Virginia Commenced" with this text taking over 2 columns. Pg. 4 also has two interesting letters concerning General Butler & the children of slaves in prisons (see). Other pg. 2 war heads include: "Harper's "Ferry Recaptured" "Gen. Burnside in Possession" "Pursuit of the Fleeing Rebels" "Important Rumors" "Stonewall Jackson Dead" "Rumored Capture of Gen. Lee" and much more.Four pgs., folio size, a few discreet archival mends almost unnoticeable, very nice.
