* Rare title from pre civil war deep South
A scarce title to find from before the Civil War. Various news of the day & a wealth of illustrated ads, including an uncommonly lengthy front page illustrated ad headed: "$225 Reward" for not just the return of a slave, but a slave who was stolen by a white man.
The details of the situation are mentioned in the ad (see photos). We have never found such a lengthy & unusual slavery reward ad, let alone on the front page.

Four pages, some foxing, damp staining at the lower portion, partially loose at the spine.
