THE NEW YORK GAZETTE & THE WEEKLY MERCURY, Nov. 27, 1769 A newspaper by the famed publisher Hugh Gaine. The ftpg. includes a letter concerning "religious liberty", which includes a reply. The ftpg. also includes an article concerning comets. Pg. 2 includes "The Speech" of the Lieut. Gov. of Virginia concerning a boundary line with the Cherokee Indians, and more (see). This is followed by a report from Boston concerning importation problems. Pg. 3 includes a report from Philadelphia, and a speech of the Lieut.Governor of New York concerning the death of the governor. Several ads as wee, a few illustrated. Pg. 4 is entirely taken up with ads including 2 runaway rewards ads and a "To be sold, a Negro wench about 24 years..." ad. Complete in 4 pgs., nice coat-of-arms engraving in the masthead, some edge wear, generally nice.
