An inside page has nearly a full column containing an: "Extract of a Letter from On Board the Hector in Hampton Road, Virginia, July 24, 1740" which tells of a military encounter, reading in part: "...On the 9th, General Oglethorpe came with about 300 soldiers & about 300 Indians by sea from the south parts of Georgia..." with more concerning his invasion of Florida to take over Spanish lands (see photos). This is considered part of the "War of Jenkin's Ear". Complete in 36 pgs., measures 5 by 8 in., full title/index pg., has little margin wear near mentioned text, otherwise in nice condition.
