THE GENTLEMAN'S MAGAZINE, London, June, 1753 This issue contains a great full page print of: "St. Philip's Church in Charles Town, South Carolina" with just a small bit of text on it on the facing page. Quite rare to find prints of American architecture in this magazine. Some nice text as well, including "Geographical Description of Louisiana" which takes over 2 pages, and "The Bill Permitting the Jews to be Naturalized by Parliament...". There is also a fullpg. hand-colored plate of "The Blackcap Flycatcher" bird on "The Yellow Virginian Sweet Jessamine" plant (see photos), plus there is an engraving within the text of one page headed: "View & Description of the Island of Capri", and there is an article; "An Account of the Condore, a Monstrous Bird in South America". About 5 1/2 by 8 in. 48 pages, with a full title/index page. Very nice condition.
