April 11, 1775
THE PENNSYLVANIA EVENING POST, Philadelphia, April 11, 1775.

* Trouble Brewing in the Colonies
* Revolutionary War Imminent

Most of the front page is taken up with: "A Speech Delivered in Carpenter's Hall, March 16th, before the Subscribers towards a Fund for establishing Manufactories of Woolen, Cotton, & Linen in the city of Phila."

A pg. 2 report from Boston includes: "...that great debates had arisen in Parliament on American affairs...intended to petition his Majesty to pursue the measures hitherto adopted to enforce the acts relative to this province which have been so much complained of by this continent, for which purpose a number of men of war were getting ready to bring over more troops...".

Also a report from Norwich which includes: "...brings accounts that the acts are to be repealed, but on certain conditions to be performed by the Americans; but I do not know what they are nor whether this account may be depended on...that a mob of 30,000 people had surrounded the Parliament House & demanded the reason why the American acts were not repealed...". Also on pg. 2: " ...that the Parliament has voted...that the Bostonians are in actual rebellion & the other colonies are aiders & abettors...also passed a law restraining the colonies from trading to any part of the world but with Great Britain...".

Pgs. 3 & 4 are mostly taken up with ads and a lengthy poem. Complete in 4 pages, measures about 8 by 10 inches, nice condition.
