GENTLEMAN'S MAGAZINE SUPPLEMENT, London, England, 1757
* Great 1757 map
* Map of England and Wales
Here is a terrific and rather large map which has printed within the cartouche: "A New Map of ENGLAND and WALES By Thos. Jefferys, Geographer to his Royal Highness the Prine of Wales."
The map measures about 15 by 17 1/2 inches when unfolded, is in very nice, clean condition, has about half of the left blank margin trimmed but no loss to the border or the map (although close!): see photos. There is tremendous detail with the thousands of towns and cities noted, plus portions of Scotland, Ireland and the French coast showing as well.
Included with this map is the "Supplement To the Gentleman's Magazine for the Year 1757" from which this map came to verify its date, as the top of the front page references the map (see photos).
This "Supplement" issue is complete in 24 pages and measures about 5 by 8 inches.
