THE NEW YORK TIMES, May 10, 1858 The front page has an article
headed: "Movements of Trains and Troops for Utah" with the text
including:
"Major General Smith has
issued elaborate orders...trains are to be divided into divisions of
226 wagons each...each column is to be supplied with four months'
provisions which are to be replenished when passing Forts Kearney and
Laramie..." with more (see photos). The complete report takes about 3 1/2 inches.
Page 4 contains a quite lengthy article headed: "Arizona Territory" "Character, Resources, etc. of the Country--Its Application for Territorial Organization" with the text taking about two-thirds of a column.(see photos).
Complete in 8 page and with much other news & ads of the day. Slightly irregular at the blank spine margin, otherwise in very nice, clean condition.
