COLUMBIAN CENTINEL, Boston, May 9, 1798  This issue has various correspondence, letters, replies, etc., of John Adams from during his presidency. 
Page 2 has the reply from the President to an address from the inhabitants of Providence in which he mentions his affectionate attachment to them, but also talks eloquently of the past and current relations with France, mentioning in part: "The honour of our nation is now universally seen to be at stake, and its independence in question, and all America appears to declare, with one heart and one voice, a manly determination to vindicate both...," signed in type: John Adams. Also addresses from the citizens of Roxbury and Quincy. Other news of the day and several interesting advertisements as well.
