COLUMBIAN CENTINEL, Boston, Feb. 15, 1804 Page 2 has a brief report about "a BALL" given at the "assembly rooms" of Georgetown by the members of Congress on the acquisition of Louisiana. Says there were 200 ladies present "...and the scene was the most brilliant ever exhibited in this district." Also word that Geo. W. P. Custis would supply poor persons in his neighborhood with fuel "....gratis of the Mt. Vernon estate during this inclement season."
