It was named after Don Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo, the famed California general and statesman. He was a leading proponent of California's statehood and one of the first members of the California State Senate. This newspaper existed for less than 2 years under this title, and only one institution had records of any holdings, all of which were likely deaccessioned.
