It was work in progress from 1825 - 1828 and this report describes the work, beginning: "The scaffolding and shed which have so long concealed from the public eye the tympanum of the capitol have at length been removed, and the lover of the fine arts cannot be but truly gratified with the beautiful production of the chisel which has been disclosed.
