September 17, 1918

BOSTON EVENING TRANSCRIPT, Sep. 17, 1918  The front page has the heading: "CITY HOSPITAL CLOSED", with subheads: "17 Additional Cases Reported", "Camp Devens Reports More Than 3500 Ill", "Not Sure Disease Has Reached Crest Yet", and more - all of which provide details of the Spanish Flu epidemic. The article continues on page 5 where another related article is also found which also mentions Camp Devens. Nice to have an issue from close to Camp Devens - one of the epicenters of the pandemic.
News of the day including reports related to WWI are found throughout.
The issue is complete and in good condition for the era, but it is fragile and does have typical edge/margin chipping.
