THE DAILY COURIER, Natchez, Mississippi, Feb. 2, 1854  A very uncommon newspaper from the Deep South, and rare to find any newspapers from Mississippi from before the Civil War. Although there are various news items the issue is dominated by advertisements, many of them illustrated.
Page 3 has three slave sales ads, headed: "Negroes for Sale" "One Hundred & Forty Negroes For Sale" and "Negroes! Negroes!" all with details.
Four pages, never bound nor trimmed, wide margins minor loss to a blank, upper corner, in great condition.
