August 22, 1938

THE DALLAS MORNING NEWS, Texas, Aug. 22, 1938  The front page has a nearly banner headline announcing: "Police Capture Hamilton and Pal Without a Shot" with a subhead: "Most-Sought Pair In Dallas 2 Days" with  6 related photos. The report begins: "The Southwest's two most-sought desperadoes, Floyd Hamilton and Ted Walters, were captured by six Dallas detectives...".
This is a notable report, as these last remaining members of the Bonnie & Clyde gang were captured in Dallas.
The report carries over to page 5 where there is another fine headline: "Capture of Hamilton Cleans Up Barrow's Gang" and subheads: "Punks, Police Called Them" "Fugitives Caught After Four Months Of Small-Time Crime & Frightened Hiding". Plus there are 6 photos of the Dallas detectives who bound them.
Floyd Hamilton was Public Enemy #1 when captured.
The complete issue in 20 pages, nice condition.
