August 15, 1945

HONOLULU ADVERTISER, EXTRA, Hawaii, Aug. 15, 1945

* Japanese surrender - World War II
* From the origin of the war (U.S.)

The top of the front page, above the masthead is taken up with a great banner headline: "TRUMAN REPORTS JAPAN HAS QUIT" with subhead and a photo of celebratory sailors at Pearl Harbor.
A terrific issue, as this is the city where the war began for the United States. Very rare as such.
First section only with pages 1-12, the front and back leafs are in a light greenish color, piece torn away at the bottom left area (see) which affects a advertisement only, minor central fold wear, nice for display.
