November 08, 1916

SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE, California, Nov. 8, 1916

* Charles Evans Hughes
* 'False' election report

A great banner headline reflects the contentious 1916 Presidential election: "HUGHES PROBABLY ELECTED" and a smaller banner head: "Both Prohibition Amendments Defeated by Big Vote in State". There are related subheads which suggest the ultimate result of the election cannot be determined. Ultimately Woodrow Wilson would win.
The ftpg. also features two large photos headed: "The Next President and Vice President" being Charles Evans Hughes, and Charles Warren Fairbanks.
Complete in 16 pages, irregular and mostly loose at the spine, a little margin wear, otherwise good condition.
