The top of page 24 has a banner headline: "Yankees End Season With Triumph as Ruth Hurls Full Game and Drives Homer" with subheads that include: "25,000 SEE RUTH HURL 6-5 VICTORY" and more. Interesting item as he probably hadn't pitched since he was with the Red Sox many years earlier. My guess is that since it was the last game of the season and the Yankees were not in the playoffs, they had Ruth pitch to draw a crowd (money) ?
