On page 3 under "New-York" is a report headed "Departure of the President" that begins: "Yesterday morning the President of the United States, with his family set off from this city for his seat at Mt. Vernon, in Virginia, where...he will reside, till his presence is necessary at Philadelphia." More about the "parting scene" described as "solemn and affecting".
Some small loss in the upper left corner, archival mends to two spine tears, large area of heavy of damp staining.
