February 07, 1891

THE CLEVELAND GAZETTE, Ohio, Feb. 7, 1891 A rare & rather early newspaper for the African-American citizens of the Cleveland area. Page 2 notes: "The Cleveland Gazette is the oldest, & has the largest bona fide circulation of any newspaper in the interest of the Colored People, published in the state of Ohio...".
Not surprisingly most of the content is focused on African-American events, people, concerns, etc.
Four pages, a bit tattered at some margins, some dirtiness & foxing.
