He would eventually be caught by the Japanese and endure countless days of torture until the end of the war over two years later. He is featured in the recently released film "Unbroken". Also reporting on "Count Fleet" wining the Belmont Stakes. This was the 3rd of 3 historic wins for the famed horse to clinch the triple crown of horse racing.
