THE LONDON GAZETTE, Aug. 23, 1777

* Revolutionary War
* 18th century
* From The Enemy

This is a terrific issue. The entire front page is taken up with text headed: "...Letter from Hon. General Wm. Howe to Lord G. Germain, New York, July 5, 1777" signed by him in type: W. Howe, & another from "…Howe to George Germaine dated July 15, 1777".
Page 2 has a letter from General Burgoyne to Sir William Howe dated at Ticonderoga July 2, 1777, plus a report from General Howe to Lord G. Germain dated at New York, July 15, 1777, and also a lengthy report: "...from G. Collier to Mr. Stephens, Halifax, July 12, 1777" with great text on naval events.
Four pages, full red tax stamp on the front page, very nice condition.
