Page 4 has a report headed: "Richmond Captured" taking half a column, beginning: "Richmond was captured on Monday morning...and occupied by General Weitzel's troops. The rebels left in great haste, leaving the city on fire..."The negro troops & Yankee officers were greeted with enthusiastic welcome..." and more.
Also: "Mass. 55th Colored Regiment" "Lee's Destination" which includes a letter signed in type: U.S. Grant" "Colored Troops" and more war content.
Four pages, tape across pages 4, 6 & 8 (to flatten creases), otherwise good.
