October 30, 1929

CHICAGO DAILY TRIBUNE, October 30, 1929

* Stock market crash of 1929
* Great headline of "Black Tuesday"
* Wall Street, New York City

A very notable issue as it reports the tragic event of "Black Tuesday", the most  catastrophic day in the market's history which would become the forerunner of the Great Depression.
As was typical of most newspapers, they put an optimistic spin on their banner headline: "STOCK SLUMP ENDS IN RALLY" with the subheads: "Over 26 Million Shares Sold In Record Beak" "Prepare for Crucial Session Today". The report and related articles carry over to pages 2 and 3.
Complete in 40 pages, this is the "rag edition" printed on very high quality newsprint meant for institutional use. Great condition.
