Helen Wills Moody wins 8th Wimbeldon singles....

Item # 661604

July 02, 1938

NEW YORK WORLD-TELEGRAM, July 2, 1938

* Helen Wills Moody wins 8th & last silver salver
* The Championships, Wimbledon vs. Helen Jacobs

* Nice headline for display

The front page has a great banner headline: "MRS. MOODY CRUSHES HELEN JACOBS" with subheads and photo. Nice for display and unusual for such a nice headline being on the front page dealing with sports. Much more in the sport's section. She is known as the first American born Woman to achieve international celebrity as an athlete.
Complete with all 38 pages, light toning at the margins, small library stamp within the masthead, small binding holes along the spine, generally very nice.
