LEADVILLE DAILY HERALD, Colorado, January 1, 1882

* Terrific graphic issue from this famous mining town

Leadville has the distinction of being the highest incorporated city in the United States, sitting at an elevation above 10,000 feet. It was a classic "Old West" mining town and this issue is a treasure trove of information on the town & with many illustrations relating Leadville as it was in 1881.
The entire ftpg. is very unusual, being a huge, wrap-around panoramic view of the town which stretches from back page to the front page, measuring 8 inches tall and 37 inches wide--see the photos. This print gives a terrific overview of the town.
The remainder of this 16 page issue is filled with a huge number of articles espousing the beauty, bounty, and benefits of the area with much on local industry & mining. It includes 14 illustrations of various buildings, etc.
A complete issue, never bound nor trimmed, various wear to the edges with many small edge tears.
A very rare issue and exceedingly graphic providing an excellent presentation of Leadville from its heyday.
