January 01, 1777
THE LONDON MAGAZINE, England, January, 1777 Near the back are over 4 pages of "American Affairs", including a terrific 3 page letter signed in type by W. Howe giving a great update on all that has happened in the Revolutionary War in recent weeks. The photos show just portions.
This is followed by another letter from General Howe to Lord George Germaine dated at New York, which has some detail and the list of captures at: "...the landing of his Majesty's troops at Frog's Neck in West Cheater country, from the 12th of October to the 20th of November...".
Then a letter from General Clinton to Lord G. Germaine with some fine content.
Also a report noting: "A letter from Paris says, Dr. Franklin's abode here continues to perplex our politicians...".
One of the 2 plates called for is present, being a print of King Henry IV of France.
Complete in 56 pages, 5 by 8 1/4 inches, very nice condition.
Formatted very much like the Gentleman's Magazine but a much more scarce title. The title/contents page features a great engraving of the skyline of London.
