March 01, 1775

THE LONDON MAGAZINE, England, March, 1775  Terrific American content including: "An Abstract of the Bill for the Better Regulating the Government of the Province of Massachusetts Bay in North America" which takes nearly 2 pages. This is followed by the: "Lords Protest Against the Above Bill" which is nearly 3 pages.
This was the "Massachusetts Government Act", one of the Intolerable Acts designed to suppress dissent & restore order in Massachusetts. It was vehemently opposed by the colonies and was a major step on the way to the start of the Revolutionary War.
Over two pages on: "A Charge Given by a South Carolina judge on the Rights & Liberties of English Colonists". Then reports from Annapolis, Maryland, on the troubles there with the actions of the British Parliament. Great content here, see photos for portions. Near the back are news reports from Boston & New York of: "American Affairs".
Both plates called for are lacking
Complete in 56 pages, 5 by 8 inches, very nice condition.

Formatted very much like the Gentleman's Magazine but a much more scarce title. The title/contents page features a great engraving of the skyline of London.
