Apollo 9 mission... 1st luner module docking...

Item # 659221

March 8, 1969

THE NEW YORK TIMES, March 8, 1969

* Apollo 9 space mission
* 1st Lunar Module flight & docking
* Prelude to the historic Moon landing

The top of the front page has a four column headline: "TWO ASTRONAUTS FLY LUNAR SHIP, THEN DOCK WITH COMMAND CRAFT; JULY MOON LANDING NOW IN VIEW" with subheads and six related diagrams. Much more on page 12. This was an important mission that set up the eventual Moon landing and few months later. Unlike newspapers on the historic Moon landing which many were kept, issues on this mission are much more rarer as such. Always nice to have notable events in history reported in this World famous publication.
Complete with all 60 pages, minor wear to bottom right corner, otherwise in very nice condition.
