November 01, 1941

CHICAGO DAILY TRIBUNE, November 1, 1941

* USS Reuben James sunk
* 1st American warship casualty in WWII

The front page has a nice banner headline: "SAVE 44 OF DESTROYER CREW" with subheads. Nice for display. Article continues on page 7 with photo of the warship and few more of the crew. Coverage on the sinking of the USS Reuben James, the 1st U.S. warship casualty of World War II.
Complete with all 30 pages, light toning at the margins, small library stamp within the masthead, small binding holes along the spine with some wear here as well, a few small archival mends, generally good.
