NEW-YORK TRIBUNE, from New York, dated August 15, 1865

* Post Civil War baseball

The back page of this issue has an article: "The Field" "Base Ball--Grand Championship Match" which has a detailed summary about a match between the Atlantic and Mutual clubs at the Capitoline Ball Ground, in Brooklyn. This also describes the scene with much talk about the crowd estimated at about 20,000. The summary also acknowledges that:  "...Baseball is decidedly the National game of America..." and mentions that:  "...the ladies platform [was] crowded with elegantly dressed ladies...".  This also has details about the game and a box score.

This is complete in 8 pages and is in very nice condition. See photos for details.
