Dorr guilty of treason?...

NILES' NATIONAL REGISTER, Baltimore, June 25, 1842  Page 3 ha a report which is a follow-up to the Dorr Rebellion, noting in part: "...his charge to the grand jury alluded to the recent events in that state & defined particularly what constitutes the crime of treason...all the indications are, that Gov. Dorr, (so called) means to meet what remains of his legislature at Chepachet...arms, munitions, and military organizations, appear to be aimed at by the insurgents..." with more.
The bkpg. has a very brief item: "The Mormons have nominated a full ticket for county officers of their own religious domination, in the county of Hancock, Illinois."
Sixteen pages, 8 1/2 by 12 inches, very nice condition.

As noted in Wikipedia, this title: "...(was) one of the most widely-circulated magazines in the United States...Devoted primarily to politics...considered an important source for the history of the period."
