* 49ers hearing of hardships


Page 3 has a small item: "The California Fever" which notes: "...that divers & sundry persons who had intended to start for California...have given up the idea in consequence of the very discouraging accounts they received from the return passengers who arrived in the Alabama yesterday. We think they exhibit great wisdom by their determination."
Also on page 3 is nearly a half column report: "Letters to The Hebrews" which is about an anniversary of the Hebrew Benevolent Society, and includes two letters, one signed in type: Daniel Webster, and the other Wm. H. Seward, Seward a U.S. Senator from N.Y. at the time.
Four pages, very nice condition.
