DAILY NATIONAL INTELLIGENCER, Washington, D.C., Aug. 16, 1849

* Settling cities in California
* Gold rush miners era

A terrific issue on the early towns of California, as page 2 has: "New Towns In California" which takes half a column. It is prefaced: "...gives a long account of new cities which have been laid out in that country...within a few months. We abridge the account as follows:..." and what follows are details on the new cities of Fremont, Vernon, Boston, Sacramento City, Sutter City, Webster Suisin, Toulumne City, Stockton, New York of the Pacific, Benecia, Martinez, Napa, Sonoma, St. Louis, San Rafael, and Saucelito.
Four pages, very nice condition.
